KING’S THEATRE. ’ Tp-night ... -‘‘The Battle , .of..,,.Arras’ 7 will bo shown. This film is released by the British War Office and handled by the New Zealand Government. It is taken under official conditions,i,s the genuine article, and, the most diversified and interesting 'film of the war taken so far. The attacks are .vivid, in -detail, and its taking was the work of .a reckless -and skilful camera man. The troops are soon in thousands, advancing, falling -and rushing again, with the shrapnel bursting close over the ; -heads. Just in front of them can be seen the line of our barrage, with its.‘relentless explosion hail. The Tank picture is wonderful, and it gives a better idea of the antics of this man-made monster than any view seen in the "Battle of. the Ancre. ” The views of the difficult problems afforded-by'the rivers Somme aiid .Searpc, the ingenious, rivey., transport of barges . are' quite; yadi’6i, ;Qjiife new, too, are the panoramas of cavalry and the league-long-lines of artillery all busily firing.. There are. .peeps at the recently, liberated inhabitants of the retaken area. The Bth episode of "The Neglected Wife’’ will also be shown.
To-morrow night a picture that has few equals, featuring that supremo actor Robert Warwick, will be shown, entitled "The Silent Master." At the request of country clients. "The Battle of Arras” will be shown at the matinee The prices are to be as usual.
EVERYBODY’S. Never before has such a thing happened in Taihapc—seats reserved for pictures—the dress circle full the first day the box plan opened, and the back stalls nearly all reserved also. The management certainly deserve it, for their enterprising effort of taking a movie film of the Procession. The picture is a first class one, and compares favourably with Topical .Pictures taken in other countries. Taihapo was there the house was packed and many could not obtain admissions There v?erc also numerous requests for another screening and the management informs us that the whole of the programme is to be repeated again this evening. Theda Bara is well worth seeing in an appealing photo-play entitled "Her Greatest Love," There is a good Travelogue on tfic programme and a two reel Paramount Arbuckle comedy "Out West” featuring Fatty Arbuckle.
