THE WANGANUI SHOW.

oENTRIES CLOSE NEXT SATURDAY. REVIEW OF THE SCHEDULE. Saturday next, November 2nd, is the date for the closing of entries for the Wanganui Show. Looking through the schedule, it can be seen that this year’s classes and prizes have ueen made more attractive than ever. This is noticeable in the horse section. “The Wanganui schedule is a most comprehensive one, there being classes for every description of horse, and as the Asociation and special prizes are liberal, it is expected there will be a first-class display of horses at Wanganui on the I3th and 14th of next month.

It was only to be expected that special attention should have been paid to the cattle and in this section there arc no less than 19 classes more than than there were last year. Every breed of cattle, milker and beef animal, is catered for. There should be no dearth of entries from the dairy farmers of the district. Thv Association and special prizes are generous. This is also the case with sheep. A number of new sections have been included, representing in all 31 extra classes, and throughout all there is a lavish sprinkling of challenge cups, championship awards, special prizes •and ordinary Association prizes. Sheepfarmers will be able to find in the schedule a class for any breed or hybrid. As far as the sheep section of the Show is concerned, this year’s should be a record.

A section which has this year been put back to its honoured place is that which takos in 12 classes of specimens of the “gintleman w r ho pays the rent. ” Principally Berkshire and Yorkshire are catered for, but two other classes are very comprehensive. The Dog Show, which will be under the control of the Canine Club, promises to be very fine.

The Homo Industries section also shows an increase in classes and prizemoney. The Cookery ' section has always been a popular one, and this year should bo no exception. The points prizes and the special prizes appeal most temptingly this time. The Schools section is sure to be well filled. An extra attraction in the Home Industries shed will be the Native classes under which heading appear such things as Maori-made .bread,' carving, Native yeast kits, calabash and collection of curios.. We hope to see an interesting collection of Native w:Ork. Needlewmrk appears much the same as before. The Art and Technical section show's a big advance, more classes having been included. In the Produce section there are six classes, covering potatoes, butter and vegetables.

Other sections of interest are photo graphy and the competitions.
