GERMAN CASUALTIES.

FRIGHTFUL COST IN LIFE,

Figures published here show the frightful cost in human life from which the German people have suffered through the mad militarism of their Kaiser and his advisers, says the Paris correspondent of the Morning Post. Since the beginning of the war the German losses in killed, wounded, missing or prisoners have amounted to about 6,000,000 As the total of Germans mobilised since the beginning of this conflict numbers about 12.000,000 I this means that half their effectives have been placed hors de combat. A large proportion of wounded, however, have, of course, been able to return to the field. The number of killed, nevertheless, must have exceeded 1,400,000 down to their offensive last March. The Gorman offensives in March, April May, and June, it is estimated by experts- here, must have cost them at least 120,000 in killed, making a total of 1,520,000 killed down to the end of the last half year.
