Writes a New Zealander from Switzerland, after intervening many people who have come out of Germany during recent months: If an Independent Socialist member raises his voice in the Reichstag, his utterances never penetrate beyond its -walls: and if he pro-posss-speaking at any public meeting the Reichstag, he must either summit his speech beforehand to . the censorship or he must promise not to say anything that would .cause the ofcial present—for an official is always at all such meetings—to stop him from speaking. I am in no way exaggerating This is exactly what is happening in Germany to-day. All the people are told is that “our bravo troops have kept the enemy from invading Germany.”
