WITHDRAWAL FROM OCCUPIED TERRITORY TO COMMENCE ALLIES TO HALT TEN KILOMETRES FROM GERMAN FRONTIER. MORE SENSATIONAL REPORTS. Received 12.50 a.m. SYDNEY, this day. The following message has been received from Reuter, via Vancouver: — The New York Tribune received a special cable from its own correspondent with the American forces on Wednesday, stating that elements of the German army opposing the Americans have been told that plans for an armistice and withdrawal from occupied territory have been arranged. The plan embraces the withdrawal of German troops for twenty kilometres, while the Allied armies withdrew ten, with a neutral strip of thirty kilometres between the armies. A general withdrawal then commences, the Allied armies halting ten kilometres from the German frontier until peace is signed.
