TWO AUSTRIAN SUBMARINES DESTROYED BY AMERICAN CHASERS. Received 9 a.m. . - NEW YORK October 4. American submarine chasers destroyed two Austrian submarines at Durazzo. AMERICAN STEAMER LOST, Received 9 a.m. NEW YORK, October 4. By a collision of American steamers at Hermianfrasch, 41 survivors were rescued. TORPEDOING OF THE TAMPA. NOT A SINGLE SURVIVOR. Received 9 a.m. NEW YORK, Oct 4. The American patrol cutter, Tampa, was engaged in convoy duty on Sep. tember 26 in the Bristol Channel, when a torpedo is believed to have struck her. The explosion caused her to sink before there was a possibility of rescuing a single man aboard. A quantity of wreckage was later discovered. Ten American officers were on board. One British and five civilian employees were also drowned.
