LEAFLETS ON VIENNA.
TEXT OP MESSAGE DROPPED BY D’ANNUNZIO. ROME, August 10. The Giornale dTtalia publishes the text of the leaflets dropped over Vienna by the air patrol which visited the Austrian capital under the command of Major D’Annunzio yesterdav. It is as follows; People of Vienna.—Leara to know the Italians. We are flyqing over Vienna. We could drop tons of bombs, but we only drop a greeting to the three colours—the three colours of liberty. We Italians do not make war on women, children, and old men. We are making war on your Government, the enemy of national liberties, on your blind, obstinate, and cruel Govrnment which cannot give you either peace or bread, and feeds you on hatred and illusions. People of Vienna, you have the reputation of being intelligent, but why have you put on Prussian uniforms? You see now that the whole world has turned against you. Will you continue the war? To continue is suicide for you. What do you hope for? For the decisive victory promised you by the Prussians? Their decisive victory is like the bread from the Ukraine. One dies while waiting for it. i “People of Vienna, think of yourselves! Awake! Long live liberty, long live Italy, long live the Entente!”
