Does Organised Labour favour State Control as a solution for the Liquor Traffic? The New Zealand Labour Party, although declaring, for democratic reasons, that State Control should be on the ballot paper decidedly refused to commit themselves to it as a policy. The Labo'ur men of Great Britain want Prohibition. Eeccnt votes in industrial centres in England, Scotland, and Wales, give a majority in every case for war-time prohibition. Annan where the Government publichouses are, voted over 3 to one for Prohibition. Paisley, in Scotland, registered 11,182 for and 1178 against or over 9 to 11. Hull gave an 11,511 majority, while Lesmahagow, in Scotland, topped the lot with a 30 to 1 verdict The total for 27 centres was —Prohibition, 166,693; against. Prohibition 78,066; a majority for Prohibition 88,627. New Zealand Labour will fallow this splendid lead.—(Advt.) WADE’S WOEM FlGS.—Wonderful Worm Worriers. Price 1/6
