0 QUARTER MILLION STERLING. DUTY EXCEEDS £30,000. j WELLINGTON, Sept 19. The Military Service Board reserved its decision in the case of an application that Norman R. Bain, a soldier on active service, should be allowed to return to the Dominion. This soldier had been legal adviser to the Tate Mr. A. Hatrick, of Wanganui. It is stated that the duty on the estate will probably b'e* from thirty to forty thousand pounds, and it is expected it will be sworn for probate at a quarter-million: sterling. The Application was made because there is likely to be a conflict of interests, and Bain is the only one with complete knowledge of details.
