RAID ON PARIS. LONDON, Sept 16. A Gorman communique says: As a reprisal for bombing German towns, our squadrons last night dropped 22 tons of bombs on Paris. PARIS, Sept 16. Several squadrons of enemy aeroplanes bombed Paris despite an intense barrage. There were some victims and material damage. * ' \ ONE RAIDER DOWNED."' ) PARIS, Sept 16. Official. —A German raiding aeroplane was downed in the suburbs of Paris. Three airmen were killed. The air raid was remarkable, owing to the numbers of the enemy and the intensity of the anti-aircraft guns' reply. The enemy’s great determination indicated a desire to intimidate the population, perhaps as part of the “peace offensive.”
