GLOAMING’S GREAT DISPLAY SYDNEY. September 16. The Daily Telegraph says: “ Gloaming ’s performance ini winning the Chelmsford Stakes provided one of the moat /striking disr&ays -of galloping ever seen at Eandwick. He behaved somewhat unkindly at the post and lost some lengths by slipping half-way round in the race, but from that point settled down to his work nicely, He assumed control before the field reached the homo turn, and once in the straight left the others as if they were standing. It was a remarkable performance. as Gloaming has neverstarted in a race before.”
The “Sydney Times’ * describes Gloaming’s win as a great performance The colt establishing an Australasian record for nine furlongs. To all appearances another three furlongs would not have troubled Gloaming, who promises to play a prominent part in the Derby.
