MILITARY SERVICE BOARD

The Military Service. Board continued its sitting at Marton when the following appeals for exemption were dealt with:— Frank Lban, Mangaweka,—Adjourned till October sitting. George Arnell Wheeler, farmer, Taihape; Class C, appeal formally dismissed. Henry Samuel Harris, bookmlaker, Mangaweka, public interest and undue hardship—appellant stated he was 2S years of age and he had two children. He asked for a medical re-ex- •« animation. He stated that he purchased the business in 1914 and had not made any particular effort to sell the business pending the hearing of his application for medical Te-examinatiom—iFur'thter (hearing aid/' journed till the October sitting. His farm was -325 acres and he purchased it six "years ago. 200 acres were in grass. The farm could not pay-, a manager. All -his neighbours were in a large way. Willam Lockhart Shergold, dairy farmer. Taihape. Undue hardship.— Appellant stated that he was farming on his father's property. His father was 70 years of age. Decision reserved sine die. John Henry Saunders, confectioner, Taihape, undue harship. Appellant asked for time to sell his business. He had advertised the place. If given, say three months, he thought that would bo sufficient time to make factory arangements to dispose of his interests. Further hearing adjourned until November.
