COLD STORAGE.
On tiin motion of Mr. J. A. McLeavey the following resolution was carried at a recent meeting of the Wellington Provincial Executive of the Farmer’s Union: “That, as the cold storage accommodation of the Dominion is not sufficient for the requirements of production during the j coming season (although after the our present space will be quite sufficient), it is thus possible that large quantities of produce cannot he stored amongst which, is the commodity or butter; a serious loss to the State would accrue if space ia not provided for butter, and we respectfully suggest that the whole subject of additional space be discussed at a conference (at which all those interested should be represented) called at an early date; at which it should be decided whether the cost of such additional space should not be provided by the Government should be decided.”
