KING'S THEATRE. The World Film Co-operation present that fine drama "Trie Guardian" Briefly the story is as follows:—A worthless fortune-hunter, and a man whoso past will not stand investigation are the opposing characters in "The Guardian" the splendid World Film drama Montago Love is the hero, and Arthur Ashley, the villian of a play which is remarkable for its original situations. The hero is a prosperous banker in a rising town, and is guardian to a lovely girl. She, by the way, is June Elvidgc, and remarkable acting characterises the first scenes of the drama where she appears as a beautiful boarding-school scholar, infatuated with a handsome rascal? The guardian on meeting the lover promptly forbids him to the house. Sadly enough, the scamp falls in with a saloon keeper who knows something discreditable in the guardian's past life, and the two blackmailers promptly join forces. Their efforts result in the flight of the guardian. He goes back to the slum haunts that he formerly knew so well, and learns there of the plan to abduct and plunder his pretty ward. Plot and counter-plot follow in swift succession, and the closing scenes are packed with thrills. The acting is of high standard all the day through and the production is of the usual matchless World standard. Supporting the above is that popular actress Anita Stewart, and Earl Williams in the "Awaking" there is also the 10th episode of the "Secret Kingdom," Gazette, etc.
EVERYBODY'S. Dainty, demure Marguerite Clark, in bloomers and sweater, valiantly using boxing gloves, and knocking out a girl about twice her size; Marguerite Clark in correct masculine evening attire, knocking down a six-foot bully of .a man; and Marguerite Clark standing on tiptoes ' on • a' cross bar of a gymnasium kissing a 'young English lord—these are ia' : 'few of the Marguerites we are introduced to in her latest Famous Players' Paramount picture "The Amazons,"showing at tlie Town Hall to-morrow -(Saturday). Many surprises are in store for those who see this picture, whcih will add thousands to the great army of Marguerite Clark's admirers. While still retaining her ■ inimitable demurcness and charm, she had added an athletic agility of a breath-taking nature. Altogether, the film is not only exciting and full of humour, but is redolent with that wholesomeness which characterises all the Famous Players' productions. It s supported by a fivepart Mutual production . "The Eainbow Girl"-a Paramount' Gazette, and a comedy. "The Amazons" will be shown at the Matinee: .'
