BROKEN HILL MINES IDLE. - SYDNEY, August 29. Owing to coal shortage as. the result of the strike at Port Pirie, only three mines are working at Broken Hill, where 4500 have been thrown idle. STATE ENTERPRISE. SYDNEY, August 29. A statement made by the Premier shows tha the past year all State enterprises show a good margfti of profit excepting the trawlers, which had a loss of £5498, principally due to the Commonwealth Government, commandeering vessels for a period.
