CARNIVAL AT RANGATAUA.
Patriotic sports are to be held at Eangataua, in aid of the “Copper Trail” Fund, on Saturday, September 7th. The sports are to be held at Pcrham and Larsen’s mill, the employees being the promoters. The prize list is a lengthy one, and the competitions are such as should attract considerable public interest. In addition to various chopping land sawing events, there are ladies’ sawing competitions, as well as quite a number of events for children; well supplied tea rooms and fruit stalls, besides a number o f amusing side shows. In fact Perham and Larsen’s Axemen’s Sports are, in every sense, a patriotic carnival. The object of the men’s efforts is a noble one, as all the money goes to the Ee s d Cross the Copper Trail fund. Taihape residents w-ho have had little experience of iaxemen’s carnivals should not miss being present; the whole day is to be a complete gala day.
