KING’S THEATRE. Absolutely original is the story told i n Olivo Thomas's last Triangle play, “Betty Takes a Hand." Although Olive Thomas in this drama is not a cabaret girl, she manages to infuse all the joy and spice of life into her role, and her lovers who are now reckoned by the million, will adore her “some more.” She is the daughter of a broken down miner whose rich sister-in-law sends for the girl to go to San Francisco. The aunt is a social climber, and after being rather appalled by Betty's prettiness, goes off on a yachting cruise with her own daughter, with a view to landing a '.millionaire husband. Betty gets even by turning the aunt's fashionable and exclusive home into a boarding-house, and the resulting complications are fast and furious. During their unravelling she rescues a multimillionaire from a plight due to a motor accident, and takes in quite unknowingly his idle son, as a guest in the boarding-house. Two splendidly managed surprises bring the story to a bright and happy close. Supported by a picture of Dominion interest of 2500 ft. entitled “Auckland from the Skies/' filmed from: an aeroplane by a New Zealander
