CORRESPONDENCE

AN UNNATURALISED ALIEN.

•"- To the Editor. Sir, —Does it appear just that a storekeeper in business not a hundred miles from Mataroa, on being called up, appealed on the ground that he was not a reservist, being an unnaturaliscd subject of an alien enemy, and his case was adjourned sine die? Now, while British subjects have to go to the front, and fight to protect this man in his business he is left alone to live in peace and continue his business. Were he a producer the case might be- different, he should in my opinion be sent to camp or interned* "He that is not with me is against me." What about people dealing with him, are they not liable for trading with the enemy? —I am, etc., i CONSCRIPT. (In our opinion all unnaturalised aliens should be in an internment camp.—Ed.)
