AMERICAN MAN-POWER BILL. A LABOUR OBJECTION. WASHINGTON, August 20. The American Federation of Labour has protested to the House Military Committee against the Man-Power Bill provision that all must work or fight. Objection is taken to the withdrawal of deferred classification accorded to men under the Bill when absent from work. This amounted to conscription of labour. It is likely the work or fight amendment will be . abandoned.
