THE LW.W. COMMISSION. INTENSE INTEREST AROUSED. SYDNEY, August 20. The I.W.W. Commission's sitting Is creating intense interest. Crowds flocked to hear the evidence. Scully, who appeared, denied any arrangement with the Crown to leave the country. Ho said he went because he desired to make a fresh start elsewhere. In the final settlement he received £375 10s including his salary. Witness identified the statement given by Judd, containing a digest of the case from his point of view, which he then believed to be true and honest comment. He swore at the trial that he believed several of the accused were innocent, whereas he expressed the opinion that others were guilty. He denied stating that a great deal of evidence was framed up by the detectives, or that if a Royal Commission was appointed he would give evidence that he believed a miscarriage of justice had occurred.
