GERMANY’S TROUBLES.

GERMAN SOLDIERS REALISING TREMENDOUS LOSSES. NEW YORK, August 18. The New York Herald’s correspondent at the American front cables: A paper found on a German prisoner, and which, is being surreptitously circulated in the German army, says: ‘‘The awful months spent before Verdun are with us again. Even the general staff admits the losses have been tremendous. Whole companies have disappeared and regiments reduced to small numbers. Many divisions have lost seventy per cent. There is hardly one division out of a hundred between Arras and La Fere of which at least one-third have been either killed or wounded.” The paper contains two sheets and is addressed to "German, soldiers.” ’ ~g —«■ —g
