■ —£i BRITISH STEAMER- SUNK -' ; Received 9.2& .:.<. NEW- YORK, August 16. Captain David Evans, of the British steamer Panistone, which was torpedoed and sunk, was held a prisoner on the U-boat. The- survivors who were landed were exhausted and barely able to speak. The steamer's engineers were killed by the explosion of the torpedo.
