COAL POSITION IN BRITAIN SERIOUS.

Received 10 a.m. LONDON, August 13. It is understood that the coal situation in Britain is more serious than is generally realised. The Government intends to lay the facts before the country. It "is admitted that a coal ration would meet ordinary needs. The Government hopes the people woulfi endeavour to do with less than the ordinary rating owing to the increasing American requirements. The Miners' Federation meets some time this month to consider the question of increasing the output.
