B Energetic steps have been taken by J the Indian Government to give effect * to the recommendations of the Delhi i Conference. The Government proposes > the formation of four boards dealing f respectively with transport and, foodstuffs, communications, employment and labour, and publicity. These, with the Central Recruiting Board, will cooperate with each other and with the Munitions Board. Their work will be co-ordinated by a Central War Resources Committee, presided over by the viceroy, and including Sir Michael 0 ’Dwyer, most, of the members of the Viceroy ”s viceroy’s council, Sir Thomas Holland, the quartermastergeneral, and the adjutant-general. The transport and Foodstuffs Board will deal with animal and mechanical transport, co-ordinate and expand machinery for the regulation, of foodstuffs resources, the development of cultivation, and the encouragement of local consumption of local supplies. The Communications Board will take the place of the Central Priority Committee for goods traffic on the railways. The Labo'ur Board will give information | to all desiring useful employment in j the present crisis, and will advise respecting variations in the labour supply in different districts. Remarkable interest is displayed throughout India in efforts for the vigorous prosecution of the war, and many prominent politicians are co-operating.
