THE SNOWSTORM.
Discussing the recent snowstorm in the Raetihi district with well-known local residents, they remarked that It was far the heaviest experienced In this district during their residence _ of 24 years. 'After all previous falls they never remember the snow remaining on the ground so long. An old Maori in this district says that a simliar fall to that experienced recently, was -witnessed about 40 years ago. Then it remained for fully a month, and afterwards very mild weather prevailed for several months.
