DECLARATION DAY.

Monday next wall be officially observed in Taihape as Declaration Day, and at the suggestion of the Acting Prime Minister, and in conformity with an arrangement applying to- the whole British Empire, a resolution will be moved His Worship the Mayor (A. L. Arrowsmith, Esq.) in the following terms: — "That on this the fourth anniversary of the declaration of a righteous war, this meeting of the citizens of Taihape rcords its inflexible determination to continue to a victorious end the struggle in maintenance of those ideals of liberty and justice which are the common and sacred cause of the Allies. ’ ’ The meeting has been arranged to be held at the Band Rotunda at 12.30, and in case of wet weather, at the Town Hall. It is unnecessary for us to refer to the desirability of every person in the town, and district being present. It is a solemn and sacred duty.
