KING'S THEATRE. i ? k The queer title of the latest Triangle drama "Chicken Casey," gives no idea of the delightfully original nature of the plot. Dorothy Dalton is the heroine and the quick changes of her impersonation are baffling. She portrays an actress who is anxious to take the part of "rags" a girl of the slums. The author, knowing her for a girl of wealth and luxury, will not hear of it, and so Dorothy goes into the Bowery and puts up a remarkable "stunt as Chicken Casey, a tough and altogether undesirable young person. Through an ingenious trick, she gets the author into a most compromising position, and the love story that develops is full of emotional strength; Charlie Qjunn as the hero, is the part to the life and the supporting cast is notably strong. The whole play is an interesting sidelight on the way things are managed behind the scenes in- the production of stage plays. The scenes in slumland are vivid and interesting. The story is of a genuinely new type and it affords Dorothy Dalton greater scope for her versatility than anything she has done. i , , THE TAIHAPE PIERROTS. 'A final reminder is given of the performance of the Taihape Pierrot Entertainers at the Town Hall to-nigns. A full-dress rehearsal was held 5 lafet night, when every item went with a swing that augurs well for to-night. The sale of tickets has been most satisfactory, and as there is bound to be a big attendance, it will only be a matter'of common prudence for intending patrons to procure their tickets and book seats without delay. The opening cßorus will be rendered at eight o'clock sharp. THE FISK JUBILEE SINGERS. For many years the Fisk Jubilee Singers have been a house-hold word throughout Australasia,. They were first organised from the Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A.by Mr F. J. Loudin, who brought the company to Australia in 1871. They again visited Australia in 18S5, this time under the management of Mr Jean McAdoo. The company have nowbeen re-organised by Prof. C. A White who for many years toured with ' Mr. McAdoo as musical director and will visit here on Wednesday, July 31st, when they should receive a great reception. Since the re-organisation of the company they have met with great success throughout Australia and New Zealand and their forthcoming visit to Taihape should prove a powerful attraction. Miss Belle F. Gibbons, the lady baritone singer and leader of the Jubilee Choruses is still a power of attraction. In all the years the Fisks have been appearing before the public it is doubtful if they were ever stronger than at present. The Company are ten in number and everyone is a first-class artist.

The box plan for the coming season is now open at Swedlunds' Music ■Warehouse, where seats may be reserved without extra charge. Popular prices to suit everybody. 3s, 2s Is.
