ON THE SEA.
HUN BARBARITY. LONDON, July 7. Kaakon Ohlson, solo survivor of tiro Norwegian coal ship Eglington, was picked up on >a raft in the North Sea after horrible sufferings for nine days. A submarine approached, and without warning shelled the ship firing on the sailors launching the lifeboat. They finally succeeded in making a raft 6ft. by 4 ft. Of nine on the raft eight died while Ohlson threw himself ovreboard after living on sea sodden biscuits and water. He was picked up by a patrol boat.
BLUFFING THE GERMANS. MORE SUBMARINE LIES. BERNE, July 7. During the Reichstag debate on the Navy Estimates, Admiral von Capellc Secretary to the Navy, claimed that the submarine weapon was increasing in strength. He declared that the figures quoted by British and French Ministers were untrue. The enemy tonnage was constantly decreasing owing to sinkings, while the enemy requirements in tonnage were increasing. The German submarines, like German armies, would secure victory.
