On the Sea.
TORPEDOED 300 MILES OUT. BOAT'S CREW LEFT TO PERISH. LONDON, June 28. Papers found on the body of a ship's officer washed ashore on the south coast of Ireland show that the ship was torpedoed three hundred miles out at sea. Thirty-five of the crew lived eight days. Apparently there are no survivors.
DESTROYERS IN ACTION. LONDON, June 29. The Admiralty reports: Four British destroyers patrolling the "Prelgian coast on the evening of the 28th June sighted eight enemy torpedoers. The
British went at full speed on an easterly course, engaging the enemy at long range, the action lasting fifteen minutes. Three more torpedoers join-
id the enemy, whereupon the British ell (back upon their supports. The memy did not fCllow and the action vas broken off. The British vessels /ere undamaged. German official: One the evening f the 27th, parts of our Flanders tor. edo forces engaged British destroy* rs off Ostend. After a half-hour's ght the enemy withdrew, escaping ut of sight by developing fog. Hits fere observed on two enemy destroyrs. Ours returned to their bases unamaged.
