MILITARY APPEAL BOARD.
The following appeals were dealt -with, at the afternoon sitting at Marton. John Lissette (Mr Gascoigne), Mangaweka. Appellant stated that he lad been, engaged to shear • 11,000 sheep for the coming season. He had 800 ewes on his farm. Decision reserved sine die. Albert Percival Loye, farmer, Mangaweka. Leave granted till September draft. J David Arthur Anderson, butcher, Eaetihi. Adjourned till next sitting. ' Thomas Gill, farmer, Utiku.—Adjourned till 27th July sittngs, Peter McMenamin, bushman, Utiku. —Appellant had four brothers at the front, two of whom had been killed, one discharged, and one in the fighting line. Board reserved its decision sine die

Davd Issaac Parsons, fireman, Taihape.
The chairman explained that his wife would receive £144 a year, and she would be better off.
Appelant: Oh, no, she's not. She's losing me.
The chairman: Financially she would be, as you state that it costs you £2 a week for yourself out of your •wages of £3 9s.
Appellant to go in with September draft.
OBalph Senior Partridge, linotypeoperator, Taihape. William Arthur "Walsh, secretary to the Military Service Board, stated that the appellant Ihad only one leg and a crutch.—Board reserved its decision sine die.
Kenneth Scott (Fullerton-Smith), sheep farraer, Taora. Appellant stated that he had written to the Taihape Efficiency Board, offering a manager £l5O a year, with free house, butter, meat, etc., but so far had not been able to engage a manager. —Board reserved its decision, sine die. Thomas Edward Workman, farm manager, Utiku. Appeal dismissed, transferred to Class 2.
James Stevenson Watson, brick manufacturer, Taihape, employers' appeal. Thomas Bason stated that appellant was a brick manufacturer and "was the' only man in the yard. His son. enlisted when the war broke out and had 'recently received his discharge, but was unable to-take up this work again.—Adjourned till August sitting. Charles F. Brooke (Mr Ladley), dairy fanner, Utiku, an adjourned case. Appellant stated that his halfbrother had returned from the front and was working at Eltham, as a bricklayer. His other brother was still at the front. His father was not capable of looking after the farm. He had not tried to get anyone to look after the business. —Board reserved its decision sine die.
Lionel Edmund Deacon, accountant, Taihape, Appellant stated that lie had received satisfactory reply from the Knancial Assistance Board and was prepared to go into camp—Appeal dismissed, and leave granted till August draft.
George Thomos Kilmister, Utiku, applied for an extension of leave. —To go into camp with September draft. Wynfred Vincent Kelsall, order clerk Taihape.—Adjourned till next sitting.
