POSTAL AND TELEGRAPHIC CHANGES

HOW TAIHAPE IS AFFECTED. In connection with the curtailment in Post and Telegraph, services which comes into force on July Ist. the following are the alterations in the local services.

The posting boxes will be cleared as at,present. Letter carriers deliveries will be reduced to one delivery daily. Commencing at 9 a.m. All mails for despatch prior to 9 a.m. will close at 8 p.m. on the previous evening and parcel mails for despatch before noon will close at 5 p.m. on the previous evening. Money order and savings bank will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. instead of from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, as at present.

The telegraph office will open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will not reopen between 7 and 8 p.m, as at present The telephone exchange is not affected, but the public bureau box will not be opened after 5 pm. •
