MATAROA DAY AT THE RED CROSS SHOP.
Mataroa and district has long been noted for its generous response to charitable and patriotic appeals, and on Saturday the people of this locality will have charge of the Red Cross Shop in Taihape. They have for some time been busily preparing for their "Day," the result being a splendid collection of goods that are in every day consumption, such as potatoes, beef, mutton, lamb, pork, vegetables of all kinds, cakes, sweets, etc. Quite apart from the benefit the Red Cross funds will receive, the occasion is one that will appeal' to the economical housewife, who is anxious to procure everyday goods of first class quality at moderate prices.
