KING'S THEATRE. "A Wife by Purchase" Paul Trent's striking novel has been transferred to the screen by the Metro Company under the title of "God's Law and Man's," with the tjewitching little star Viola Dana in the lead and Robert Walker as her principal support. ' Viola Dana Is becoming wonderfully popular with picture patrons, her versatility, charm, and remarkable ability winning a prominent place for her amid the stars of the screen. In each of her Metro plays she has had a different sort of character, and her ability grows with the delineation of each. Miss Dana, in her very early days was recognised as a splendid dancer —in fact her career commenced as a child dancer in England and later in New York. In "God's Law and Man's" opportunity is found to reveal her ability in this direction, when as an East Indian maiden, she is the dancing girl at the rites of an heathen temple. It is safe to predict that as' Anieia the little Hindoo girl who follows her English lover to London, Miss Dana will be regarded as one of the clearest and popular stars of the screen." There is also the Rex Beach Travels entitled "In Pirate Haunts," Gazetta and comedy.
