HUN SOLDIER FREE IN PARIS.

A German wearing the uniform of a French soldier has been arrested in Paris. He was stopped in the street by a military policeman, to whom he produced a French soldier's identity booklet but no leave ticket. At the police station he admitted that he was a German and said that he belonged to the 76th Bavarian Infantry, which' took part "in recent fighting on the Somme. His regiment suffered terrible losses and in order to escape from the inferno he crawled out one night into' No Man's Land, took the uniform off a dead French soldier, and joined a group of men going on leave to Paris. J The prisoner speaks French perfectly, j His manners and education suggest j that he is an officer.
