KING'S THEATBE. There will be a double star programme at the King's to-night, headed by the "Circus of Death." Evelyn Wolfson is the daughter of Wolfson, the great circus proprietor touring in Italy. She does a wonderful performance and catches the eye of the Crown Prince of the country, who goes behind the scenes. They fall in love, and soon their intimacy becomes very close. They spend a honeymoon on the Italian lakes. However, the news is brought to the Prince that his father is dead. 'After a struggle he accepts his fate. He marries a neighbouring Princess, and they have a son. Evelyn's baby dies while she is broken-heartedly joined with a gipsy gang. A pet monkey that has lived with her feels the baby's death very much, and on arriving at the capital, by an extraordinary series of mischances picks up the Prince's child and escapes with it to the top of an enormous tower. Evelyn,, through her athletic skill, climbs the huge height and rescues the child. Then the story ends with the present from the Prince "to the only woman he ever loved" of a souvenir portrait medallion. Supporting the above is a five-part comedy-drama, featuring Douglas Fairbanks.
EVERYBODY'S. Always good, Sessie Hayakawa a seen at his best in "The Gall of the East," a Lasky photoplay, showing at the Town Hall this evening. .The play is strong in dramatic interest and it touches upon a question which has ever had a fascination for the student and the philosopher "For East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet. " This is the problem upon which so many lives have been shattered, and it is this theme upon which "The Call of the East" has been constructed. It shows us the irresistible pull that the East has upon the white girl with Eastern blood in her veins. Her terrible struggle against her natural instincts and final surrender are worked up into a tense and powerful drama. On the same pr^''griamme there is a Butterfly production "The Reed Caso" featuring Louisa Lovely also the latest Paramount Gazette and comedy.
