HE RETURNED THE SALUTE.
A Salvation Army man told this story at Napier: Once ■ upon a' time about thirty New Zealanders were to proceed to Buckingham Palace to be descorated by the King. At the appointed time, the officer who was to conduct them to the Palace not having arrived. General Richardson turned to Chaplain-Major Greece, formerly of Dannevirke and now one of the greatest of the Salvation Army chaplains at the front, and 'said: "Greene you take them, Fall in.-" Away they marched, and on reaching the Palace gates the sentry called our t "Guard turn out." 'and in all their dignity and imposing array the Life Guards did so, to be saluted by friend Greene, returning their salute by taking off his hat, waving it, and calling out "How are 3-011 boys? Good luck to vou! "
