LOSS OF RHEIMS IMMINENT. (Extraordinary —Press Association.) Received 12.26 a.m. LONDON, May 31. The Germans have reached the Marne along a ten mile front. The loss of Rheims is believed to be imminent. A heavy battle round Chateau Thierry is taking place. (Chateau Thierry is situated on the Marne., and the railway runs through the town. This 'railway is the main line of supply for all th e eastern portion of the Allied defence, and forms one of the main corridors to Paris. Its loss to the Allied forces would be little short of a disaster. The distance from Chateau Thiery to the jumpingoff place of the German offensive is about 35 miles.) ADVANCE STILL MAINTAINED. Received 10.40 a.m. LONDON, May 31. One view held by some authorities is that the enemy is'already wheeling to the right of Soissons, but it is considered doubtful If he will attempt such a huge movement. Already his full maximum advance yesterday was eighteen miles,, bringing the enemy within sixty miles of Paris, but he is already nearer Paris at Noyon.
