KING’S THEATRE. TO-NIGHT. At this popular theatre to-night will bo presented two special star pictures of five parts oacji, headed by “The Clodhopper.’’ which is claimed to be the most original drama seen upon the screen this year, in which comedy and drama arc woven with a deft hand. The setting of the picture is something to be wondered at, particularly the scenes set among the roof garden entertainment places of New York. Charles Ray is the star, supported by Margery Wilson. The second star is 1 ‘ The Periwinkle ” featuring that charming actress, Mary Miles Minter, which will be admitted by all who see it to be the best sea picture shown in Taihape. The programme, with its excellent supports, will undoubtedly form an exceptional first class evening’s amusement. MONDAY NIGHT, One of the famous Wolfville stories by A_ H. Lewis is picturised in “Dead Shot Baker,' 7 ’ the Greater Vitagraph drama. The stars are Williom Duncan and Carol Holloway, the two artists who became so famous in “The; Fighting Trail,” The story concerns a young woman from the settled Eastern States of America. She goes to live in the West. There she is loved by one of the finest men in the land, but she fails utterly to appreciate his goodness and is fascinated by the flash manners of a man from the city. The husband despairing of reaching his wife’s heart, attempts by reckless acts to do away with himself, and she incurs the fierce hatred of the people of Wolfville. The incidents that follow are full of excitement, and the story is remarkable for its sudden turns and surprise twists. A terrific fall over a cliff is one of the spectacular scenes in “Dead Shot B’aker, ’’ where the hero engages an outlaw leader in a furious hand to hand struggle on a mountain top. There are a good supports to the above.

EVERYBODY'S, The Taihape picture-goers who look to their own -Town- Hall to treat them: to the very best and latest films are to have a’ treat to-night. The big picture of the bill is a “Morosco” masterpiece called VThe Happiness of Three Women, ” described as the biggest motion picture sensation of the year. It is a spectacle of unusual proportions in every way, for not only is the cast one of the most capable that could be collected, but the, story is one that will engross the most experienced of picture-lovers. The story chiefly concerns a young lawyer named Yraig, who holds, the happiness of three womcn—his own fiancee, the loving helpmate of , a , bank pashier, and the wife of ,a jealous.husband—in the hollow of his hand. In. the development of the plot the conditions that arise are such that he must either give up the girl ho loves, incur the wrath of the jealous husband, or send the bank cashier—an innocent man—to prison. The principal people on the east are Myrtle Steadman and House Peters. With the clever supporting programme there is an excellent Mack Sinnett comedy in two parts, and an instructive film about the making of a Dodge car is backed by the most recent American Gazette. On Monday (King’s Birthday) a great holiday programme will be presented. Fanny Ward will appear in the big Lasky production “On the Level,” and “Fatty Arbuckle” in a rollicking two reel comedy “Oh! Doctor.”
