POLAND'S EYES OPENED.
Until Russia was handed over to the Huns by Trotsky and Lenin, the Poles were led to believe by both Germany and 'Austria that they had some form of “independence” to look forward to. The scales have now fallen from their eyes. “Godzina Polski,” of Warsaw, quoted in a late Berlin paper, says:— “For us the Brest Lltovsk peace is the end of our dreams of a mighty Poland. For nearly four years we have watched the bloody tragedy from afar, fondly imagining that such a role was politically sagacious. In reality it was the poorest imitation of politics, and has only injured ourselves. We have lost time and treasure. We have now only to see that we do not lose faith in ourselves.”
