APPRECIATION.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—A’few clays ago,-whilst journeying froin Eeatherston to Auckland our little girl ‘was taken ill on the express. and we were forced toxbreak the journey at Taihape. The kindness received from residents in. your district was of such a nature that I feel constrained. to er-ave space in your columns to publicly thank all who lent assistance that evening, in particular, Dr. McDiarlnid, and the Matron at “Ruanui” for their kind and skilful attention to the little one?‘ Mr. Mercer, your very worthy stationmaster, whose kindness to us then and afterwards we shall never forget; Mrs. Paul for her readiness to help, and Mr_ and Mrs. Miller who, seeing that we worse strangers, took us into their home and made us welcome whilst in your midst. VVO have travelled far, Mr. Editor, but never before have We been so overwhelmed With kindness. Thanking you in anticipatior-.—l lam, etc., '
