KING'S THEATRE. One of the most sensational dramas | ever screened in Taihape -will be shown at the King's to-night. "The Millionaire's Double/' is really one of the brightest and most interesting stories -written. It is the story of a wealthy American, who when his, wife elopes with another man, closes his home and wanders about Europe with his valet. On the death of his wife he returns to New York, only to find that Bide. Bennington is forgotten at his old haunts. He therefore seeks distraction in Japan and it is while there that sensational developments take place in America, where his ''widow" appears,, and it is round this and other incidents that the sensational portion of the picture centres, as wallas a' great deal of the sparkling l comedy with which the drama abounds: The picture is altogether an admirable one in which the comedy and dramatic episodes give a unique contrast to each other. Lionel Barrymore fills the principal role in an inimitable manner. The supporting films are also of great excellence, making the programme one well worth seeing.
EVERYBODY'S. A double feature programme is being presented at the Town Hall tonight, "The Love Thief," a Fox film, which has the top place, is a real fine example of filmic art. The story is right and the actions ends wtlh a big, gripping climax, while the photo, graphy of the play, with all its surprising tricks and artistic changes, is described as being a veritable triumph. Some of the incidents depicted are well nigh perfect from the point of view of the audience, and the settings throughout have a distinctive touch. The tale is centred round the Mexican border, and the trouble in the story is mostly brought about by the conflicts of the Americans with the Mexicans. The leading artists in this vivid drama are Gretchen Hartman and Alan Hale. The other attraction is a five-reel Bluebird production, "A Kentucky Cinderella," a happy combination of romance, adventure, and physical daring. An interesting Graphic is also shown. FISK JUBILEE SINGERS. Speaking of the present band of Jubilee Singers, the Rev. J. McCallum, Lonsdale Street, Methodist Church, Melbourne, says: "The sweetness of the voices, the accuracy of the execution, carry the mind back to the early concerts of the first Jubilee Singers, who delighted audiences and taught them with sentiment while they pleased them with melody. They will , charm any audiences. They make their mark by giving • plantation hymns as only they can sing them. One of the greatest qualities of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, entertainment is its wholesomeness. Their inimitable easy maner when rendering the quaint old melodies that have a charm of their own, makes one feel at home with them," The Fisk Jubilee Singers will appear at the Town Hall. Taihape to-morrow night. The box plan is open at Swedlund's Music Shop, where seats may be reserved. '
