CONGRESS TO REMAIN IN SESSION. RED CROSS EFFORT. RAILWAYMEN’S WAGES INCREASED. Received 8.45 a.m. ’ WASHINGTON, May 27. President Wilson, addressing Congress, said it must remain in session until it prepared the country for the coming burden. Mr. McAdoo has granted increased wages to railwaymen, amounting to 300,000,000 dollars annually, also recognition of an eight-hour day. To meet the increased railwaymen’s wages Mr. McAdoo has ordered a 25 per cent frieght rate increase, and half a cent per mile increase in passenger fares on all railways. This is the largest increase in the history of railroads. It is expected the annual increase to revenue will be from 800,000,000 to 900,000,000 dollars. NEW YORK, May 27. The nation-wide Red Cross work netted 112,000,000 dollars. The New York Times’ correspon. dent on the American front ways the first American aeroplanes equipped with Liberty motors have arrived on the West front.
