GERMANY STRAFES THE COUNT WHO DESERTED.

Geneva. Since Count Rudolf Reventlow (nephew of the fire-eating Count Reventlow) deserted from the German Army and was smuggled into Switzerland, his family who live at Lugano, have been constantly persecuted by Germany. As all financial supplies were cut off, the count entered a boot factory as a workman in order to support his mother and sister; but under the new Swiss law prohibiting the employment of deserters, he has been trans, ferred to an agricultural colony near Zurich, The newspapers ask why he was thus singled out, while 300 other deserter have been left unmolested, and suggest that this is a further instance of German persecution.
