GIRLS’ HOCKEY CLUB. A meeting of the Girls’ Hockey Club held last night was well attended". The proceeds from the social and dance totalled' £4 8s 6d, which added to the subscriptions received, places the Club in a good financial position. Owing to there being another ladies’ club in Taihape bearing a somewhat similar name, it was decided to rename the Club the “Ladies’ Huia Hockey Club.” The secretary reported that the conditions attached to the challenge cup presented by Mrs. P. J. Hintz had been posted to all clubs between Peilding and Raetlhi. A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Daws and Maloney for services' rendered in connection with the social and dance.
Owing to the wet weather the match arranged between the two local clubs was postponed till a later date. As the competitors for the challenge cup appears to be creating great interest, the girls have decided to go in for training, and arrangements are to be made for a hall to practice in. It was decided to hold another social and dance on June 20th.
