GERMAN OPINION.
ENGLAND RUSHING DOWNHILL,
As Germany’s internal pains grow worse, the stronger become the doses of medicine which are administered through the medium of the official press. A wild article in the Tagliche Rundschau, of Berlin, is a good specimen of the officially-concocted soothing syrup which is now being administered:— -
“The English people wilt continue to starve, and the conditions in their country will grow ever (more intolerable, until they suffer a tremendous defeat in the west. Only a blow between the eyes that shall fell them to the earth can bring the English and the Americans to their senses. If at the same time constant air raids are directed against London, hut against London only, the British Government will pass over into the hands of those who are inclined to approach Germany w'iffi petitions for peace. The German' people at home must have patience and cease growling ,and whining. They must wait, resignedly until the English come begging for peace—and it will not be long ere they do so. In England things are rushing with lightning rapidity.”
