BANNED GERMAN PLAY.

KAISER DISPLEASED WITH STAGE VERSION OF SEA BATTLE. A report from Dresden speaks of a remarkable play written by Reinhardt Geering, entitled "The Sea Battle." The scene is laid in the interior of a battleship during the Skagerack fight. The last acts contains a representation of an armoured tower in the ship, the characters being seven sailors, who are supposed to be firing the guns. The climax comes when an English bomb containing asphyxiating gas destroys the tower and killed all seven gunners. The dialogue is said to be in the harhest strain against the present naval administration. Hence the Dresden Commandant forbade the public performance, which was taking place before a number of guests. The play has also been banned in Berlin by the Kaiser's order.
