HOCKEY.
A meeting . was held in the Fire Brigade Hall last , night tor the 'purpose oi ioraung another ladies' hockey club in, ,'i'aihape, f when there was handed in the names of some thirty intending members/ Mr. J. W. Munro occhpied 'the-chair. It was decided to : re-form the Old Gins’ Hockey Cltifr. ' 1 The following officers were elected: Patron, Mrs. (Dr.) Sinclair; President, Mrs. D. Neagle; vice-presidents, Mesdames Phillips, Wakeman, and Ongley; secretary and treasurer, Miss Me Auliffe; Captain Miss D. Leahy; vicecaptain Miss C. McLaughlan; committee, Mesdames Hesketh and Smallfield, Misses M. Smith, N. Murphy, E. Donovan, McPhee; Coach, Mr. Wilson. The subscription was fixed at o/o for active members and 2/6 for honorary members. The colours of the Club were black skirts white blouse, green ties, and white caps. It was decided to impose penalties for non-attendance, want of punctuality, and failure to wear proper playing costume. In order to get into form for forthcoming matches it was arranged to have a run round the “Rec” to-night, and for that purpose all members are requested to meet at the BanrC of New Zealand corner not later than 8 o’clock, A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. F. J. Hintz for her generous donation of a silver cup for competition. A friendly match will be played against the Girls’ Hockey Club on Thmursday, 16th inst., and a mate will probably be arranged with a returned soldiers’ team on the 23rd. A six-a-side tournament is also to be put on at an early date. A recommendation was passed for a conference with the other hockey clubs to arrange fixtures for the seas°n. ;; ' 5 A meeting of the Committee will be held next Monday. A vote of thanks to chair concluded the meeting.
