DR. TRUBY KING IN NEW YORK.
Writing on March 21, an American correspondent of the Christehurch Press says: New York has been entertaining an angel unawares in Zealand's Dr. Truby King. With babies dying like flies on the East side,, the arrival of such a noted conserver of infant life should have been proclaimed in letters of fire from the tor> of the Woolworth building; however, the milk at 9 cents, a pint and as was the case, in January, the thermometer at 14 deg. below zero and a coal famine besides, even Dr. King would be helpless. L heard Dr. King give an address, under the auspices of a woman's club, in the" ballroom of the W Alpine Hoel; the room was so* crowded that many could not gain admittance. A New Zealander could not .but feel a glow of patriotic pride as Dr. King i showed on the screen pictures of the magnificent babios turned out at the Karitane Home. An infant Hercules, "at the age of seven months," as Dr. King emphaticallyimpressed on the audience, received" great applause.
