ARROGANCE OF HOHENZOLLERNS.
It is not generally known that in the year 1858 a predecessor of the present German Emperor became a suitor in the courts of Missouri. It was Frederick William IV., of Prussia, who brought the suit, and who sought to recover from the estate of a deceased postmaster a sum with which the latter had absconded to America. The ease is on record as that of “’King of Prussia v. Kuepper’s Admr., 22, Me. 551.” The Eoyal plaintiff states that he is absolute monarch of the kingdom,
of Prussia, and as king thereof is the sole Government of .that country; that he is unrestrained by any constitution or law, and .that his will, expressed in due form, is the only legal power there known to exist as law” All of which, an American paper comments would indicate what Frederick William IV., thought of himself and his rights In his day, and that leads to the reflection that his successor is
