o WOOD FROM SWITZERLAND. FOB. ENTENTE POWERS. Received 8.45 a.m. BERNE, May 5. A new economic arrangement has concluded between Swtizerland and representatives of the Allies, whereby the former undertakes to supply the Allied Governments with a certain quantity of wood for a period of eight months. The Allies are making important concessions regarding supplies for Switzerland. PARCELS FOR PRISONERS IN TURKEY. Received 9.10 a.m. LONDON ,May 5. The Red Cross organisation has arranged to send parcels of 1518 weigh! fortnightly to prisoners in Turkey by American express across Austria, where the past delays have occurred. Recent acknowledgments from Turkey indicate the parcels are'arriving more satisfactorily, but extremely slowly. The Society hopes a thousand British prisoners coming from Turkey in connection with the new agreement will include Australians. The ship which takes the exchange Turkish prisoners from Egypt to Asia Minor will carry large quantities of foodstuffs and clothing for distribution among British prisoners, also parcels of "clothing for each officer.
